CBD FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About CBD (Cannabidiol)

CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound that comes from the marijuana plant, or its close relative hemp. Research suggests that CBD has an array of medicinal and wellness benefits, and is safe for use. At Simply CBD, we carry the finest hemp-derived CBD products in a wide range of forms and potency to suit your needs.

Have some lingering questions about CBD, its uses, effects, and benefits? We have answers.

Is CBD the same as THC?

No. CBD and THC are both cannabinoids with similar chemical compositions, but different effects on the human body. The biggest difference is that THC is known to cause psychoactive or intoxicating effects, while CBD does not.

What are your CBD products made from?

All products carried at Simply CBD use CBD derived from industrial hemp plants, NOT from the marijuana plant and NOT from hemp seeds.

Will CBD get me high?

While CBD is not completely without neurological effects, the compound does not contain THC or have psychoactive properties, and therefore will not get you high. At Simply CBD, all the products we carry are lab-tested to ensure they are below the federal limit of 0.3% THC and of the highest quality and safe for use. We also carry many CBD products that contain absolutely zero THC.

Is CBD legal?

CBD is legal in the U.S., as long as it’s derived from hemp and not from marijuana, and does not contain THC. Simply CBD carries only hemp-derived CBD products that are below the legal limit of 0.3% Delta 9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content. And we have many CBD products that contain 0.0% THC. Not only do our vendors supply the results of the third-party lab testing they conduct, but we also send samples of the products to an independent testing lab to verify the results.

Is CBD addictive or habit-forming?

No. In 2017, the World Health Organization reported: “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” For those trying to quit traditional cigarettes or stop using opiates, CBD may actually be helpful in minimizing withdrawal symptoms.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

While tests that can detect CBD metabolites are being developed for employer use, standard drug tests only detect the presence of THC. Therefore, as long as the CBD you’re using is hemp-derived and verifiably free of THC, it will not be detected in a standard drug test. Since products containing up to 0.3% THC are legal and available, if you are concerned about failing a drug test, make sure you use a THC-free product.

Will CBD cure my condition/sickness/disease?

CBD has not been proven to cure any life-threatening conditions, and false claims have become so common that the FDA issued several warning letters in November 2017. There is, however, a growing body of convincing research showing CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties, positive effects on brain chemistry, and a host of other potential health and wellness benefits. Does CBD require a prescription?

In states where medical marijuana is available, a prescription is required to obtain CBD products derived from marijuana. However, hemp-derived CBD is available to anyone without a prescription. At Simply CBD, we only sell CBD products to adults who are 18+ years old.

Will a higher dose of CBD provide better results?

Not necessarily. Depending on your reasons for trying CBD, smaller doses may actually be more effective. At Simply CBD, we encourage customers to start with the smallest dose possible until their desired results are achieved, within the manufacturer’s guidelines for any specific product. Our team can help you find a dose that works for you.

How should I take CBD?

Simply CBD offers CBD products in an array of different forms, including edibles, oils, tinctures, vape cartridges, and e-liquids, as well as body and pain creams. What form is best for you depends on the reasons you’re taking CBD, and how long you want the effects to last, among other variables. At Simply CBD, our team can help you determine the right form and dose for your specific needs.
